Are you getting married around Thanksgiving, perhaps even on Thanksgiving Day?! We totally get it — family is in town, it’s a time of joy and warmth, and don’t even get us started on all the gorgeous autumnal hues… Well, if this is you or if you’re considering a fall wedding, you’re going to LOVE today’s editorial from Carol Oliva Photography + designer Willow and Plum!
Carol shares a little about the inspiration behind this shoot: This is for the couple that wanted to highlight the Thanksgiving warmth, but didn’t want to have it be all about orange colors and pumpkins! The bride and groom wanted a modern and different way to combine the celebration of their love with the sentiment of thanksgiving. So we came up with the idea of the geometric design for the altar in a triangular form, representing gratitude.
Let’s take a look at the gorgeous area of Gardener Ranch in Carmel Valley, shall we?
Going for a moodier look, the invitation suite by Altogether Lovely Shop was crafted on deep burgundy + navy paper, with luxe gold accents.
For the groom — one dapper looking blue suit from Epiphany Boutique, which pairs beautifully with the burgundy and jewel tones seen throughout the day.
A Thanksgiving wedding wouldn’t be complete without a rich fall color palette, so the tones for the day were earthy, autumnal and had accents of jewel tones and gold, as seen in this bouquet crafted by Willow and Plum.
Everything was kept around the geometric inspiration, including the mandala, which was a reflection of the altar!
THAT BACKDROP. Simple and refined, yet wild with the florals. This could definitely make for one fun DIY!!
Have you ever seen a prettier swing? The way the pampas grass dresses it up is absolutely genius.
A cocktail hour followed the ceremony and included a signature drink with figs, hard apple cider, and cinnamon.
What kind of signature cocktails would you throw in for a Thanksgiving bash? We think these look absolutely delish!!
How gorgeous is this low table with all its greenery?
Pomegranates + bees wax candles served as the main décor, and there was an abundance of pillows, too. Everything was designed to feel warm, cozy + inviting.
Want to recreate this look from Revival Rentals? Here are a few of our favorite picks.
To finish the special day, the couple hopped in the cutest turquoise boat decorated with a gorgeous garland of wild flowers.
Simply STUNNING. Want a similar hat? This one is from Lucky Brand.
Now THAT’S one stylin’ way to celebrate…
How much did you love all the autumn elements? We certainly did!! A huge thank you, thank you, thank you to the talented vendors behind this editorial.
